Barbie Princess Movie Review: Barbie and the Magic of Pegasus
By Mark Wilson
Released in 2005, this Barbie princess fairytale movie
sees Barbie take on the role of Princess Annika in Barbie and the Magic of Pegasus. Well established now as a
star of animated films, this film is Barbie's first original story in the Barbie Princess series. The high standard of animation
combined with loveable and engaging characters and a strong storyline are certain to make it a certain hit with little
princesses everywhere.
In another first for Barbie princess films, this DVD comes with two versions of the story, one of them with 15 minutes of
spectacular 3D scenes. Four pairs of 3D glasses are included in the box to allow your little princess and her friends to view the
3D scenes properly. A pegasus grooming game and a video of the title music are also included in the DVD extras.
The story follows the adventures of Princess Annika, whose family and friends have been turned to stone by the evil
Wenlock after Princess Annika refuses to marry him. The princess is rescued from Wenlock's clutches by Brietta, a beautiful
winged horse. Annika has just three days to make the wand of light, the only thing that can turn her family back from stone.
Making the wand is one thing, getting it to work is quite another! With the help of Brietta the pegasus, Shiver the polar bear
and Aiden, Barbie as Princess Annika continues her quest to rescue her family. In the process she makes close friends, finds her
long lost sister and falls hopelessly love. All the ingredients of a great fairytale.
Rest assured that, just like every other Barbie Princess movie, in Barbie and the Magic of Pegasus everyone lives happily
every after. Well, except maybe Wenlock! Little princess of all ages are sure to enjoy this Barbie Princess movie. It is
certainly one of the favourites in our house.
